THE POWER OF HABIT OVER MONEY
“Seest thou a man diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men”. Proverbs 22:29
The first man-Adam was rich but his riches were inherited from the Creator. The world would have remained so rich in divine provisions had Adam and Eve obeyed God 100% but they twine forced causes upon the earth and they began to work to get so the principle or practice of work was as a result of disobedience.
Many people today, though faithful, yet they still disobey. Just as it was in the beginning, every disobedience will often attract a curse. That is why those who disobey to abide by the rules of making money are entrenched in the curse of poverty. Until such people change their habit, nothing can change in their life.
Having money resides in your habit. The habit of obedience to attract money and the principles of making money, habit of thriftiness, habit of diligence and habit to retain money when it call visiting.
Who is a powerful man? And who is a weak person?
A powerful man cultivates, prune and discard any habit which he sees creating limitation to him when he wishes but a weak man let habit have a free ride on his affairs and destiny.
Jabez was a man I respect so much when it comes to showing disaffection to ill-inheritance.
“And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow”. I Chronicles 4:9.
The man Jabez was not the cause of his pitiable financial disposition but he sought for divine help by praying to God and asking for a change of destiny.
Jabez was born with and into sorrow. This means he was programmed to leave in sorrow, abject poverty and financial crisis all his life. The worst is that he would have ended up raising a linage, a generation of the sorrowful. But the man chose to change his habit.
He did not stick to the belief in the ancient history that he met his family in sorrow and he himself was born into it.
He did not also see himself as being incapacitated to handle the situation for a new generation to be born. I so much believe that this man must have woke up one day and grew bitter annoyance for sorrow.
“And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested”. I Chronicles 4:10
If Jabez could be the architect of a good report you also can do something to entreat God to have mercy on you. You can count on God who is able to lift everyone who desires lifting. The secret lies on your habit to change level and your habit to what you view about others making the headway in the most honourable way.
